If I have the right William J. Beard then I know he did get a land bond of over 200 acres in 1860 so he had property or at least I am assuming that he didn't lose it because of the war. His son and his sons had land in that same area well into the 1930's. I haven't been able to find a will so I am only assuming it is the same land.
