That was the "entering wedge" I needed, Mitchell -- heartfelt thanks. Born in Giles county, Tenn, he was in Monroe county, Mississippi for the 1850 census, and that was the source of the Van Dorn Reserves, Co. I of 11th Miss Inf. Lawyer by occupation.
