Belinda - Unless you are interested in other members of this company, this man's record would be of more value to you than a list of company members. You may order his record by clicking in the red-outlined box at the top of the page. Interestingly, there were two men named David M Carr that served in this Battalion from Clarke County, MS. The individual in Company D entered as a private and at some point was promoted to corporal. Family trees indicate that he was born in Mississippi and died in Texas. He was 27 years old at the end of the war. Another David M Carr was the 1st Sergeant of Company E. Family trees indicate that he was born in Georgia and died in Oklahoma. He was 22 years old at the end of the war. Both men were captured as a result of the surrender at Vicksburg, and were eventually exchanged. Both were also captured at Nashville in Dec. 1864, and ultimately forwarded to Camp Chase, Ohio, where they both signed an oath of allegiance to the US in June, 1865. Apparently both men applied for pensions in their respective states, and the fact that both men had the same name and served in the same battalion caused some confusion at that time.
