Re: Grandfathers in the Civil War

Jason, I do appreciate your desire to take care of the Hezekiah Slade Cemetery, as it is fast becoming a "lost" cemetery. It is my impression that it is currently leased by a local hunting club, but they are very cooperative in allowing you access to the graves. I also have heard that the Purvis SCV are in charge of its maintenance. I have not been in several years, but when I was there, my heart broke. I descend from Daniel Grantham and Sarah Slade, so have ties there too. Please email me at msgsyoung1@bellsouth.net and I can give you contacts with the SCV who may be willing to help. If there is any way I can work with you, I will.
