Re: Virginia's Museum of the Confederacy Is Strugg

Roy, thanks for posting this.

It seems to me the way to ensure the survival of the museum and its artifacts is to first relocate it to more "neutral ground" (somewhere other than Richmond; you tell me where?) and rename it to something like "The Museum of the American Civil War."

Then, produce a really well done, historically accurate (most important), high impact, educational film that all visitors must see as step #1 on their tour of the relocated Museum - a film that does not glorify either side, but speaks to the Civil War in terms of how it shaped and changed American history, what its impact was on both sides and how its long term effects may be felt and seen right up to this day (and beyond), i.e., how it has impacted you and me TODAY.

Of course, were this approach taken, it goes without saying that the renamed "Museum of the American Civil War" would also house Yankee artifacts - but, isn't that a reasonable tradeoff to ensure survival of the present museum and its Confederate artifacts?
