American morality

Ah you reminded me of something Stephen,

Early History of the United States

Before there were law enforcement officials, before there was a sheriff or marshall, before there was a police department in every city...there was basically the mob. It used to be morally and ethically correct for mob rule to met out justice. For the leading church to conduct criminal trials. To draw and quarter any traitor on the spot. To kill or hang thiefs by posse.

There were many things in our countries past were are today totally immoral that were absolutely necessary for the good of community. Slavery was believed for a long time in our country absolutly necessary for the good of the community, colony, state and nation. Therefore it was considered moral. Ask the settlers of the Plymouth colony, they sold nearly a thousand indians to slavery in the Caribbean, for much needed money and to lesson the threat of war.
