Yes, as you put it the "bad history" should be swept aside and facts presented. Any changes made should be based on complete facts.

I am not so sure I call it modern Americans that are behind this removal movement. I know that certain "other" groups make every effort, use every excuse, and take every opportunity to remove something Confederate. based on my past experience they are usually wrong, biased and in a minority. The real same is our elected officials don't have a clue or a backbone either. Therefore they just give in to please.

Somewhere in my notes I have a quote by -- I can't remember his name -- goes something like this "Facts are nothing, perspective is everything.' I am sure you know the quote, but if needed I can dig it out for you.

I believe the school was Illinois State, could be wrong, anyhow they were changing their mascot from a representative of a once local Indian tribe. One Indian girl when asked about how she felt about the change replied something like this-- How would you like to go to a school with an Indian mascot and be in fear of injury??
