Ya think Frank? The Federal army in all theaters was eating better than those boys did at home. I've got some diary entries I'll try to post. I remember one from a soldier that said he was having the best time ever in the "army". He said he was eating better and more often than at home. Ya see it still rolls back to attrition. Yeah, the Southern boys faired a little worse out of the ANV theater of operations. But then, how many of them boys in blue even had a clue what they were fighting for other than a paycheck and entertainment? I don't know as much as I should about the war in the Trans-Mississippi/Western Theater. Seems like from what I have read that those fellows on both sides didn't know much about what was going on in the east either. A lot of us Virginia folks have to be reminded that there was a war outside of our backyards. All of our backyards are battlefields and cemeteries. I see how this board "sides up" from time to time. That's usually when Jim steps in. I went to Ohio once...........I was in Kentucky and was on a one way street that took me across the river. I turned around as fast as I could. Thought I might run into you or James. hahahaha. Love ya bro. I'm an artillery reenactor. Our favorite saying is "we ain't blue or grey, we're red". If the south would have had as much iron as they had heart........well. Thank God for corn bread. Keeps us on the same page. ;-)

Your friend and safe haven in Virginia,
Keith
