And don't forget, George, The Union black soldier at first was paid only ten dollars a month, instead of the thirteen the white Yankee got. This only changed when the blacks refused to accept the pay at all. Confederate civilian employees were paid more than the Confederate soldier's eleven dollars, the same as black Confederate soldiers. Stan
