Re: Arkansas Confederate Widow's Death
Bos, the historic store in Cobb County was the Lost Montain Store. When the area was built up the developers moved the store some ways down the road in order to preserve it.It had a high front porch, with steps up to it. The old timers sat on the porch and whittled. My GF had an A model Ford, about a 1931 or 2. It had wool upholstery that scratched my shorts clad legs something fierce. We would go visiting in west Cobb County, then all farms and woods, and stop at the store on the way back to Marietta. PawPaw would get me a drink and sit for a spell and talk and whittle with the guys. He usually had an apple, which he peeled all in one piece. It is funny what sticks in your mind. You can find paintings and lithographs of the store all over the place. Stan
