I thought about deleting this posting, as it is not directly related to the American Civil War; however, I will leave it with the understanding that we will try to steer our discussions back to a Civil War theme.

For instance, if we want to talk about reparations, how about we discuss current reparations proposals and any that might have been made during or after the Civil War. Perhaps this legislation or statement might be compared with period legislation and statements regarding slavery.
