I was simply pointing out that Gettysburg was a town that a battle was actually fought around and throught. Something that was actually pretty rare during the war. I can only thing of a couple of other battles or actions which were done the same. The Union Army was chased throught the town by the Confederates and were rounded up while hiding in homes barns and pig pens in the town and only one civilian was killed during 3 days of fighting and no one knows who fired that fatal shot whether it was a Southern bullet or a Northern bullet that killed Ms. Wade in her kitchen.
This is a far cry from what happened in southern towns when the yankees occupied them.
