You'll find most here agree with that statement, and would only point out that is a perfect analysis of the affair at Fort Pillow. Also the events associated with, (and sometimes incorrectly like Lawrence, Kansas) Confederate forces, Fort Pillow, and Chambersburg, Pennsylvania had occured well after dozens of towns and cities in the South were burned and ransacked. The South was losing and resorting to fighting back in the manor of it's invaders, but in reality on much smaller scale.
