Edward, I would like to see a direct answer to your question, but I know there were logistical problems in filling the ranks of the 3 Texas regiments in the Texas Brigade. They sustained a lot of casulaties, especially in 1862 and 1863. Texans were understandably fearful of yankee invasions and many able bodied men served honorably in the Texas State Troops or the Trans Missippi. One thing for certain, sending 7 additonal regiments to the ANV would have been very unpopular with the Home Folks. No way in hell that 7 new regiments could have been raised to go there after the Penisula Campaign and Sharpsburg.

My follow up question is: Did any state send 7 additional regiments to the ANV after Gaines Mill?
