Re: Semper Paratus B.B.
Not trying to do the OT thing but the body of one of our servicemen came home to Pensacola from Germany for burial yesterday. A member of the Army Air Corp in WWII. He was in a plane over Dresden and the plane was hit. He parachuted out but was captured by some German troops who turned him over to the SS. After what was probably some very tough interrogation, the SS took him outside and shot him. He was buried near one of the concentration camps. A local resident in Germany finaly got in touch with someone in the US. The US Military, after DNA test were positive for the soldier they thought it was, brought him home at last.
We have heard of so many soldiers in the Civil War being buried in trenches and in ummarked graves it's a big deal when one of those soldiers is identified and given the proper rites. No matter what the conflict, to bring a soldier home is just one thing we can do to honor him for his service.
