Thanks, Mike. The story of Lt. Collins interested me when I first started studying western history, because of its similarity to the Fetterman massacre, and because of the confusion in the spelling of his first name. The Fort got it right, but the town apparently assumed the more common spelling of "Casper". I realize its bizarre, but this fact always reminds me of Casper, the friendly ghost. Go figure. Stan
