Oh- I forgot, speaking of the arsenal. I found another New York Times report stating that the guns at the U.S. Arsenal, requested by the garrison at Fort Moultrie and ordered to return, were the property of the City of Charleston (bought and payed for), and they were only being stored at the U. S. Arsenal.
