No, it's not just what I feel or want to believe though I do believe Ward Bond was the best Wagon Master I've seen in any tv program.

There are a number of 'odd' things that pop up way after the events and it does make me think there may be some truth to an individual soldier's account even if it differs from the CO's report in the OR's. Though not a Black Confederate, it was many years before many in Pensacola understood that one of our own women drew a pension not as a Confederate widow but upon her own merit. Of course I've never read everything there is on the CW and some of what I've read was a bit over my head in the technical sense but I have come to the conclusion that questions are not always answered in black and white. [In print, not skin color.] There are also some things that are in black and white but should be gray.
