I had an ancestor that was at Ft. McRee during the early part of the WBTS before he was sent to north MS after the Battle of Shiloh (since he had recieved his medical cert. from Tulane in 1860) to assist in the care of the wounded. I have a copy of a letter he sent from Ft. McRee (Ole Miss archives) where he discribes life in camp. I've looked online at the location of the fort and was wondering if it is possible to get there?
