George, I have a horseshoe I bought from Shiloh Civil War Relics which you may be familiar with. They are good folks and among the best in their business. Anyway, this horseshoe was said to have come from the Shiloh area and was dug in a group of (If I remember correctly) over 40 horseshoes and that they were probably Confederate made. Certainly it couldn't have come from Johnston's army from April 1862. I would guess at best it was there from before cousin Ulysses paid a visit or later, maybe even post war?. In any event I'm gonna frame a picture of Richard Chaddick and hang it with the shoe as a reminder to myself.
