It was the Powhatten. The Captain, Phillip Anthony Caro was my 2xGGrandfather Joseph Estevan Caro's brother. Phillip Anthony's wife's cousin or brother was on Farragut's ship and when it took on supplies here before heading to Mobile Bay the cousin/brother told Farragut of Phillips knowledge of the navagational pitfalls amd Farragut shangied Phillip to assist in the navigation to Mobile Bay.
