Re: John Foster, Co. A, 1st Penn. Infantry

Hello George, yes I did send you a question about John B. Foster with Company A 1st Pennsylvania Infantry. While I do have fold 3 I downside to it is not being able to pull some northern units and I know your pay site does.

However, since then some things have changed. John B. Foster has a Union tombstone with the 1st PA Infantry on it at the Nashville National Cemetery. The problem is I believe that the National Cemetery Administration has made an error. It should have been John B. Foster with Company A 1st Middle Tennessee Infantry (Union) The NCA has him as died on both June 4, 1862 and June 14, 1862. According to Fold 3 he died on June 14, 1862 at Nashville, TN.

He does have a Find A Grave memorial but the wrong unit is on his tombstone. For some reason the NCA is having issues with other soldiers in the 1st Middle Tennessee Infantry. One has a Confederate tombstone at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio. He died at Camp Chase and was NOT a Confederate soldier. This is the same regiment that the famous Alvin York's grandfather Uriah York and his great grandfather John York served in.

Does you site pick up the death of John B. Foster of Company A 1st Middle Tennessee Infantry? Thx Dennis
