Alphonso Burton Hutto's brother James E. Hutto according to the records which I could find was only 18 when he died of disease in 1861. There is no record of his being married at the time.

This puts him being much younger than your James Erwin.

Benjamin is a commonly reoccuring name in the Hutto Family. It is possible that we are talking about 1st or 2nd cousins here of Harmon Hutto (Alphonso and his brother James E.'s father). Who would have been slightly older than your James Erwin, he having been born @ 1810. But, I can not be certain as I have not researched all the various branches of the Hutto Family.
