I've located a couple of more articles in the Abbeville Press from early 1863 which pruport to be about the battle of Murfreesboro, but the first is mostly dealing with post battle activities of the 19th S.C.

BATTLE OF MURFREESBORO

Camp 19th Regiment, S.C. Vols.

Shelbyville, Tenn., Feb. 20th, 1863.

Dear Wilson [the editor of the Paper]:

Owing to the cold weather we ahve been furnished with an ample number of large and comfortable tents, to these tents have been built chimneys of the antique style with good fireplaces. The tents with these fireplaces are very comfortable even in cold or wet weather. Our camp is on Flat Creek, two miles from the Town of Shelbyville.

..... [He then describes Shelbyville, and prices prevailing for such items as hats, pens, etc.]

After tramp about town for two hours, we turned our steps towards camp, having to exhibit again at the [Duck River] Bridge the same "permit" that passed us in town. We drill occasionally in Battalion drill. Yesterday, we were drilled from 2 1/2 o'clock until 5 o'clock.

I am happy to state to you that our friends Sergeant S. A. Jordan, and Corporal Lawrence D. Lee, who were seriously wounded in the battle of Murfreesboro, and who afterwards fell into the hands of the enemy, are recovering from their wounds. A private letter from Sergt. Jordan informs us that they have been at private houses among strangers, who have acted the part of friends ot them.

The sun shines to-day. The first day it has made its appearance for a week. If the weather continues clear Rosecranz will be down on us at an early date. When he comes we expect to give the General a 'grand ball.' I am well.
