Re: B/Gen. A.M. Manigault question

I thank you both for your replies. I dreamed or read somewhere once a letter from a man in the brigade who wrote home and mentioned that Pressley had the brigade in Manigault's absence about this time.

Lee: Thanks again for being Johnny on the spot in these S.C. matters. Besides Capt. Austin (former HLI) and Lt. Col. John G. Pressley (C.O. 25th S.C. Inf.) , I have the father-son duo of Robert Press Smith, Sr. and Jr. Sr was QM in the 27th S.C. Inf. Jr.(an M.D.) in the 1st S.C. (Regs) Inf. Both are feet from Pressley and both were mentioned favorably in Pressley's war journal in the SHSP which I have on CD. Also 12 other CSA in the old cemetery here in Santa Rosa, CA. While we had no UCV here, there was an unofficial club of former CSA in this very pro CSA city during the war. Only county in the state to not vote for Lincoln.
Will send out your search question to my CSA contacts in C. Calif. now.
