There are quite a few letters. If I had to guess I would say 25 to 30. I gave my copy to Stones River so I cannot count them. The letters also mention The Battle at Chickamagua and describe soldiers life in Tenn in those areas. Lots of small facts that might interest you. There were several letters written by his father and his brother. The book is interesting and the author sums up the War Between the States pretty good. This was written in the 1940's. I think it is worth the cost.
Also, the letter you posted about summary of the Battle of Murfreesboro you never mention who made the report and to whom it was written. Im interested in knowing that fact if you know who it was. I found the website listing known cannons but Im still looking for the one inscribed

I have located a picture of Capt Julius Theodore Porcher. I found a relative who said she had one if she could locate it. She will be sending me a copy along with the unpublished pamplett by M Ball about the two Porcher soldiers.
