Gentlemen,
I am hoping you may have some insight into the burial place of my anscestor, John C. Cowan. He was with Co. I of the 5th TN Cav(McKenzie's Legion). Oral history from my family says that he was "killed at the Battle of Demopolis, and is buried there". Well, needless to say there was no Battle of Demopolis, and I can't find his burial site anywhere. He is one of 4 siblings that fought for the rights of the south. 2 lived, 2 died. I have been able to locate information about the other 3, but I can't seem to get much info on him.Any ideas? Thanks so much for your time.

Rana
