I also had the opportunity of visiting with some of those folks several years ago, during one of my last annual [or so] business trips to D.C. I usually only had a day or so to get to the Archives, and much of that was used up in learning the ropes, and getting the records pulled.

Since then, I have had to rely on the research services available through this board, and other contractors as well.

Regardless, I have yet to be able to access all of the Pemberton Papers that you mention. I am still frustrated in my attempts to access "Letters and telegrams received by General John Clifford Pemberton and members of his staff."
