Melissa: Just a note on this thread. In reviewing my research of listing of Confederate Soldiers mistakenly identified as Federal Soldiers and mistakenly buried in National Cemeteries I have found: Pvt. Clement C. Hammond(s) Co. G 11th Alabama Cavalry and also listed as Clement C. Hammonds, Co. D. 10th Alabama Cavalry. Undertaken in Nashville (W. R. Cornelius) listed his date of death as July 8, 1865 and cause of death as "disease". (Of course, this disease could have been brought on by a GSW).

He is not buried in Mt. Olviet with the other CSA Soldiers but is one of the (34) so far identified CSA Soldiers I have identified as being mistakenly buried in the Nashville's National Cemetery as Federal Soldiers. And, the search continues! Tim Burgess
