Re: Clement C. Hammonds, 11th Ala. Cavalry

Hammonds was originally buried in Nashville's Old City Cemetery (where all of the Federal and Confederate Dead were originally interred very near each other). The Montgomery Alabama newspaper article was correct that he was buried in Nashville as it appeared in November, 1865, but Mr. Watkins, ( a wonderful Gentleman and Historian, God Rest His Soul) supposed that he was moved with all the other Confederate Soldiers to Confederate Circle in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Nashville in 1869. Unfortunately, he was moved instead with the reentered Federal Soldiers to the newly created National Cemetery in 1866! Thus, his listing in the Roll of Honor.
