Re: Chattanooga - Cassady/Casaday

George, I should have added my previous research, saving you some time! But, Thanks for all you sent. All of the other James Cassady/Cassidy's (and various spellings) that I have researched, survived the war. The James Cassidy, Cherokee CO, GA was at Viicksburg MS where many prisoners where taken, later released & re-assigned. This Cassidy mustered out April 26, 1865. Others I located in the 1870 census. My ancestor, James Henry Cassady, was from Washington CO., TN, b.1824. By 1859 his father, Adam is in Dade CO GA., however they are not in the 1860 census, (some families were missed in that census) I have land records for their location. At the time the war had started my James Cassady is said to be in Chattanooga TN . I haven't located him in the TN census of 1860. I think it's possible he was employed at a mansion in or near Chattanooga and missed in that census (read my message's under GA and Prisoner's) None of my research has proven if the James H Cassady killed at Morris Island was my GG Grandfather. And, I looks like, I may never find out. Thanks again, I appreciate your effort to help.
Bette
