Gerald, First thank you for your time and help. I don't have any information on the regiment. All i have is as follows, Robert Montgomery 8th. Inf. Co. E La. Field Montgomery 14th Inf. Co. I John Montgomery 9th State Guard Mo. and then this other ( they were all brothers ) uncle. I was hoping to possibly match a first name with the dead,it looks to be three to four letters long. As far as the battle ( 2,000 dead CSA ) then moved from the field to the Cleburn cemetery,it says he was killed in the town of Jonesboro. Thanks, Steve
