I checked the Soldiers and Sailors System on Miller. What do you have on him? I see him as Sergent in Company H Maxey's /Young's 9th Texas Infantry. Also, did you know that he is listed as;

M. H. Dickson
M. H. Dixon
E. H. Dixon
E. S. Dixon

Do you have copies of his service cards ????

Also, I saw J.M. Dixon and J.M. Dickson ( same man ) Private Company K 9th Texas Infantry. Any Kin??????
