Yes, your Frank M. Nichols is mentioned in the BOURLAND PAPERS. He was a private in Capt. J.J. Diamond's Co. "B." Below are two excerpts from my book plus the Nichols listed in my 122-page Name Index.

1865 Fannin Co TX, Bonham, Hd. Qrs. North Texas Sub-District, Apr 7.......COLONEL [J. Bourland,Comdg., &c.]:

By direction of the Brig. Gen. Comdg., I have given F.M. Nichols, J.G. Owens, and R.M. Smith Co. “B” of Regt. passes for thirty (30) days to report to Johnson & Grimes [CSA Indian Agents].
