The below listed Williams were on rosters of the units listed. Your TD may have been related to one of these men. Most were at Elkhorn Tavern (Pea Ridge). These units came from west of Tarrent County, to the Red River, to the east Texas border and as far south as Bell and Lavaca Counties. A few came from other areas of the state and other countries. As Pattie says those of the 9th came from the Tarrent county area. The Third mustered first in the summer. The 6th in September. The 9th in October. Four Companies of the 27th were formed in the summer of 1861, but were late in arriving in Indian Territory in December of 1861. Seven companies were added in 1862 after Pea Ridge, but the separate companies could have been at Pea Ridge. Hope this helps.
