It's interesting to me that my T. D. Williams, who resided in Fannin Co., TX before and during the Civil War moved about 1869 to not far from the Battle of Pea Ridge where he had fought. He must have thought the land for farming there was better than in Texas?? To get to his extant house, you pass Pea Ridge and go on to Garfield and make a right on Sugar Creek. He is buried in the Williams Snoderly Cemetery nearby. His son was given T. D.'s original land and he donated land for the Williams Cemetery which, later, the Snoderly Family added their name as many of their family was buried there later.

Yes, the Cherokee Trail of Tears starts at the top of the mountain near Eureka Springs and they moved down the mountain near to where the Battle of Pea Ridge was fought at a later date. It's beautiful country - lots of camping, boating and sight seeing in the area today. When my T. D. lived there, Eureka Springs was a health spa with people coming from all over to bathe in the supposed healing waters.
