Re: Clanton, John Wesley, 12th TX Cav

Of course he has a marked grave now and he was found next to his cousin Rev. James Clanton. JWC died in poor circumstances and the cousin's 1st wife said he could have the empty grave in the plot with her former husband and his 2nd wife as she did not want to buried there. There apparently was never money to buy him a grave marker other then the remains of the metal temporary holding a copy of the burial permit that I found. There was also a wooden foot marker and by grave dowsing I was able to determine there was an adult male in the grave. On that basis we put the VA marker on what we believe is where he is buried.HIs widow movedt o fresno to be with a daughter. We did a vignette of him on his grave last year at our annual lantern tours .
