Please help identify the Geer,Gear mentioned in the following quote from a November 28, 1863 handwritten document found in THE BOURLAND PAPERS.

The Brawley/ Braly was probably the Samuel S. Brawley (b-1815 NC) of Steven’s 22d Cav-1st Indian-Texas CSA Regt, or his son (? Harmon) Brawley (b-1839 NC).
