Two of these three McDaniels are mentioned in my book. ..The third one is probably also listed as "J. McDaniel" but since I have not found any of these guys in the 1850 nor 1860 cenusus, I have not confirmed that he was your "James J. McDaniel, b-1843." ..All three McDaniels that you listed died during the War according to Stephen A. Kirk's A THOUSAND TEXANS: MEN OF THE 9TH CAVALRY as well as Footnote.com.
