Have an ancestor that was in co I 9th Texas, William (w c) Vann joined 1862 Paris Texas, he left Ga's Twiggs county yr's before the war.
All the family in Ga started out in the 4th Infantry and fought in Lee's ANV, Williams youngest brother Reubin wounded sometime 1862 and rejoined Johnson's Army of Tenn, during the battle of Atlanta at Kennesaw Mt, William with the 9th Texas fought on the right of Burnt Hickory Rd while his youngest bro with the 66th Ga fought on the left side of Burnt Hickory less than 300 yd's away, I wondered if they realized the other was that close, These two brothers were the only ones to survive the war, all the other family were killed in Virginia.
