McDANIEL JAMES J. Company A, 9th Texas Cavalry Regiment, PVT 18 This soldier was wounded in the arms during the Holly Springs Raid on 21 December 1862, near La Grange and Hatchie Bridge, TN. He was wounded again during Thompson Station, TN 5 March !863. He was slightly wounded on a 5 man scout, trailing a Union Cavalry Brigade in Oct/Nov 1864. Then He was severely wounded during skirmishing on the extreme right flank of the Battle of Franklin. I am trying to see if he died and was buried at McGavock Cemetery at Cranton Plantation. This was a hospital and they fought just east of the plantation, but not in the killing fields closer to town. He possibly survived.

McDANIEL M. M. A 9 PVT 25 This private died of disease at Ft Gibson on 24 December 1861, just days before the running battle with Union Indians.

McDANIEL WILLIAM D. A 9 PVT 22 This private was sick in camp in September and October and died some time between Oct 1 and Dec 31 1862, probably in the vicinity of Grenada, MS of disease. The record is vague.

Soldiers all.
