The Texas in the Civil War Message Board

Not yet, but that's not saying it's not out there. My first focus on indexing in Footnote.com/Fold3.com was Texas in the Citizens and Business File. From that I compiled a list of staff officers who were signing paperwork, and not just the big guys but lots of adjutants, commissary officers, quartermasters, lower level engineers, etc. Then I ran those names through the Confederate Officers file and that's where some of the good stuff really is. Of course I realized that you can't study supply issues in East Texas without looking at Shreveport and Washington, Arkansas, and I was also interested in Confederate activity in the Indian Territory. So now I'm going back alphabetically through Citizens and Business, Officers, and Confederate Miscellaneous (lots of POW stuff there, particularly for Missouri), and annotating anything Trans-Miss, plus other things that are interesting and which I might want to get back to.

If you have the names of any known couriers, supply runners, or whatever, I could check them.
