From what I read about Wirt Adams. He was orginally from Jackson,Mississippi and came to Texas about 1830 or somewhere around that time. He lead a command at San Jacinto and many earlier battles. Most of his commands seem to have been from around Dallas area but some came from Austin area ,also.
