Re: Dr. Robert G. (Green) Holloway, Jr. MD

To Alan Pitts,

I thank you so much, by the way I am new to this...so I will ask a dumb question. What is NARA? Also, this information means a lot to me. Dr. Holloway was my GG grandmother's younger brother. My ggrand father and his 4 brothers were orphaned when their father died (1859) and mother died 11 months later (1860) They were raised by their grandmother, Joanne Holloway (Dr. RG Holloway's mother) at "Spring Garden" plantation in Caroline Co. VA.
"Spring Garden" was owned for a short time by Dr. Holloway after his mother's death. He sold it and moved to "Ridgway" a neighboring place around 1879. Both "Spring Garden" and "Ridgeway" are "Gone with the Wind" to plagerize a term. They were taken in 1941 by the US Army (along with many other farms, plantations, and churches dating back to the mid 1700) to create Fort AP Hill.
