John,
It is very humbling to read your facts about John Mangus. When I started doing genealogy, he was just a picture in a family group and a name. When I found his obituary in a local paper and read that he was the only man in his unit to answer roll call at the surrender, I realized that he was a very special person. I know exactly where his grave is. I decorate it evry year on Memorial Day, even though I obviously never knew him. He is buried in an out of the way place in the Ladoga Cemetery just outside of Ladoga, IN. Please let me know if I can help in any way to further honor him with a special marker for his grave.
