Re: Names of Confederate Civil War Veterans

John,
I think Johnny Reb is close to the answer. My mother's side of the family emigrated to Montgomery County and settled in Ladoga in the early 1830's. They came with several other families from Salem, in Roanoke County and from Botetourt County. I think they must have lived close to some of the Confederate soldiers who served in the Civil War and moved West after the war. Most of the men that I listed were farmers and there was excellent farm ground that needed to be settled here is this area. As to the units that these men served which are not listed, I am going to a genealogy meeting tomorrow night which has as its topic, Civil War soldiers in Montgomery County. I'll bring up the subject.
