I have looked thru the information that I have for Thornrose Cemetery and there are no soldiers from VA in the list. He may be there just as an unknown.

I also looked thru his records on footnote and his last card gives an interesting note: It is a reference card and reads "See manuscript 1463, dated August 3, 1864, coffin." I haven't come across a record reading this before but to me (strictly novice!), it would indicate that he was taken home and may be buried near his home. Maybe someone else can comment on what this notation might mean. Good luck!
