There may be a slight confusion in the article. In any event, I understood that Company I of the 9th Alabama was commanded by Captain John N. Chisholm at Gettysburg, who was wounded and taken prisoner in that battle. However, there is a 3rd Lt W. J. Cannon on the original muster of Company D. Perhaps he was Captain of the latter company by the time of Gettysburg. Both Companies D and I were from Lauderdale County, according to my information. I could not identify find a Marion Wilson on the initial rolls of either company, which are found in A History of Lauderdale County, Alabama by Jill Knight Garrett, 1992.
