Chilton/Baker formed after the war. I have done work in this area and have some idea about boundaries. In general, the area above Clanton belonged to Shelby; below it to Autauga. Also, some of the western part of Chilton came from Bibb County.

We should check companies recruited in these areas, but keep in mind that at least one precinct in this area (Lower Yellow Leaf, modern-day Jemison area) was anti-secession. Of the 100 or so votes cast from Lower Yellow Leaf for candidates to the secession convention, only two went to secessionists. There were quite a number of hesitant Confederate recruits from this area.
