Thankx once again. Very intresting to sort through all of this. I dont find my GG gf listed on 1870 census, and he left behind a 23 yr old widow with 4 children in 1870 & the war is the only thing I havent looked into, as to finding him. He isnt buried at family cemetary, so if he was killed in the war, in another state, would he have been buried there, or his body brought back to AL? I have been to the Civil War Cemetary in Marietta, Ga, & I know there are soliders from all over, buried there, as here in AL, I have noticed a few graves in cemetary in Tuscaloosa, as well.Never paid attention as to where they were from tho, but will when i go back again. Thankx!!
